Privacy Policy

Effective July 20, 2026

Hoozoor needs a small amount of personal and browsing data to hold your focus boundaries and keep them in sync. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or read the contents of the pages you visit.

1. Data we handle

When you create an account, Hoozoor receives your name, email address, password and authentication information. Passwords are handled by our authentication system and stored in hashed form.

To provide blocking, time awareness and statistics, Hoozoor processes:

  • the domains you visit, along with dates, times, active duration and visit counts;
  • blocked attempts, allowance use and whether Chrome was active or idle;
  • your focus schedule, timezone, blocklist, allowlist and site classifications;
  • a random device identifier used to synchronize activity across devices;
  • IP address and browser information used for account sessions, security and abuse prevention; and
  • gratitude journal entries you choose to save, plus local breathing-session records.

Hoozoor does not collect the text, images, videos, messages, passwords or form contents from websites you visit. It does not collect health, financial or precise GPS data.

2. Why we use it

We use this information only to provide and improve Hoozoor's features: applying your focus schedule, recognizing distracting domains, measuring browsing time, calculating allowance, showing private statistics, synchronizing your settings and journal, maintaining your account, and protecting the service from abuse.

We do not create advertising profiles, sell personal information, or use browsing activity for marketing.

3. Browser permissions

Hoozoor requests browser permissions only for its focus-boundary features:

Host access and web navigation
Recognize the current domain and redirect a user-selected blocked site during focus hours.
Tabs
Follow active-tab changes, return you to a requested page after allowance, and close or redirect blocked tabs.
Declarative network requests
Keep dynamic redirect rules for the domains on your blocklist.
Idle
Stop counting time when your computer is idle or locked.
Alarms
Update timing, allowance, focus schedules and synchronization reliably in the background.
Storage
Keep your settings, activity summaries and account state.
Favicons
Show recognizable site icons beside domain-level statistics.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent your data. Data may be processed by service providers that help us operate Hoozoor. Hoozoor currently uses Cloudflare for network delivery, application hosting and database infrastructure. Providers may process information only to perform services for us, subject to their contractual and legal obligations.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or protect Hoozoor's rights and security.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Hoozoor's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How long we keep data

Local extension data remains in Chrome until you clear it or uninstall Hoozoor. Cloud-synchronized data is kept while your account is active and for only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.

You can request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by emailing us. We may retain limited records when required by law or necessary for security and fraud prevention.

6. Your choices

You can change your focus settings and lists inside Hoozoor, choose not to write journal entries, sign out, clear local extension data, or uninstall the extension. You may contact us to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your account data.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to certain processing. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

7. Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. Personal data is transmitted over encrypted connections in production. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Hoozoor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Hoozoor changes. We will update the effective date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal data is handled.
