Most screen blockers are very good at blocking a website and remarkably bad at protecting the decision behind the block.

You choose a schedule on Monday morning. At 10:49, a video sounds easier than the sentence you are trying to write. The blocker appears. Then, often in the same breath, it offers a button to turn itself off.

That looks like flexibility. In practice, it moves the hardest decision into the moment when you are least equipped to make it.

There are two versions of you in this story.

09:00The planner

Calm, specific, and aware of what the day needs.

10:49The negotiator

Restless, persuasive, and suddenly certain that one video will help.

Neither version is bad. They simply have different information and different incentives. The planner sees the whole day. The negotiator sees relief that is one click away.

A useful boundary does not ask the negotiator to defeat itself.

This is why Hoozoor treats friction as a feature—but only in one carefully chosen place. Adding a distracting site is immediate. Removing it takes effect tomorrow. Tightening your focus plan is easy. Relaxing it cannot become a reflex.

Firmness without punishment.

A strict boundary can easily become hostile. It can shame you, turn focus into a streak, or pretend that rest is a failure. We do not think any of that helps.

Hoozoor makes room for deliberate breaks through earned allowance. It offers a breathing reset and a private gratitude journal when you need help changing direction. The boundary is firm; the language around it stays human.

Design principle 01 Be strict about the choice.
Be gentle with the person.

The blocker is not the product.

The product is the distance between an impulse and an action. Sometimes that distance is only ten seconds. But ten seconds can be enough to remember the work, close the tab, and begin again.

Good attention tools should not demand more attention. They should appear at the exact moment they are useful, hold a decision quietly, and then get out of the way.

That is the kind of boundary we are building.
